How to Start a Bold School Club
Goodbye, Old School.
Hello, Bold School!
Looking for a way to connect with others who are interested in doing things differently? Start your own Bold School Club!
It's a chance for everyone-students, parents and educators-to get together and share tips about which education options are working (and which ones aren't) and brainstorm about creative ways to get a personalized learning experience that unleashes each student's own brand of flaming enthusiasm.
How to Get Started:
1. Smile.
You're about to meet your tribe! It's a powerful thing to get together with great people who are interested in becoming more creative about designing a personalized global education!
2. Be aware.
Maybe you already have a friend, a neighbor, a co-worker or a relative who is interested in learning about being a part of a playful education revolution. Who will you ask to join you? Homeschoolers are a great fit, as are charter school parents, community college students, teachers, or anyone who has spent time abroad and is interested in encouraging others to do so.
3. Get connected.
--Drop the phrases "creative education," "bold school" or "education design" into your conversations and see whose ears perk up.
--Post an announcement on an online community forum, in a newsletter or newspaper, or on a bulletin board in a local school or gathering place.
Write something like this:
Ready to meet other parents and students who are interested in exploring creative ways to get a great global education?
Join your local Bold School Club!
Our mission?
To share stories and inspire ourselves and others to become more bold and creative in discovering the best education options. If you're ready to skip the crazy college prep process and follow the wildly advantageous strategies described in The New Global Student  by Maya Frost, join us!

4. Get creative.
Find your fellow Bold Schoolers? Good!
Now, find a fun way to get together.
Host a birthday party for Albert Einstein or Mark Twain or anyone who inspires you to never let your schooling get in the way of your education. Have conversations.
Listen to what students tell you about what they love, need and want most in their education.
Listen to what parents say about what it takes to be bold enough to step away from the traditional path.
Share smiles about how cool it is to be free to fill your plate with the most tantalizing options at the education smorgasbord.
End with a round of high fives-there's a lot to celebrate!
5. Share your stories.
Bold schoolers everywhere would love to hear what your Club is up to and how you're celebrating the freedom to do things differently. Maya would love to write a post about your Club in her New Globals blog--feel free to send your story and group photo to her assistant, Mimi Quesada, at mimi@mayafrost.com
But don't forget to think big and be bold: go back to the Spread the Word page to get inspired about how you and your Club members can reach out to the world and share your enthusiasm for do-it-your-way education!
