It’s Book Launch Day! Get Ready for Some GOOD News About Education

by Maya on May 19, 2009

Today is my book launch day! I’m thrilled that my book, The New Global Student, will be in bookstores across the country this week.

So many families are struggling with college costs. So many students are feeling disheartened by the college admissions game. So many parents, educators and community activists are frustrated by the consistently negative news about education in the United States. So many new grads are facing a daunting future.

Ready for some GOOD news about education?

In my book, I share loads of info and inspiring stories that will give you a reason to cheer. Families are figuring out how to save THOUSANDS of dollars on college costs. Students are laughing at the lunacy of the current college-prep mindset and leaping right over their test-weary classmates. Educators and others are celebrating the savvy students who are blasting forward based on their own initiative and a willingness to do things differently. New grads are grinning about the options they have to engage in thrilling and fulfilling opportunities around the world.

It’s all in the book.

Take a look at Chapter One here and see if it doesn’t make you feel good about the possibilities for our kids and our future.

Maya, best of luck with your book launch, tour and everything! I loved reading your first chapter – you have a very fun writing style that is down to earth, approachable and engaging! Your book now goes on my very short list of must read books to people who want to be expats. The New Global Student and Getting Out – these two will go hand in hand as great advice.

Hi Maya, I finally got the book. I have been waiting anxiously for months.
It has given me so much more confidence regarding our move to Norway with our 13 year old daughter.
Thanks for writing a really great book and for forging a new path.
